“We” & “Our” refer to AhaDNS.com.
We do not log or store any personal DNS request data. This means that we don’t know anything about what requests a specific user have made. We do keep some anonymized statistics over each server, containing data such as, but not limited to, total number of DNS requests, total number of DNS requests blocked, type of DNS query (A, AAA, CNAME etc) and type of answer (NOERROR, NXDOMAIN, NODATA etc). These statistics can be seen here. The statistics do not contain any information about the content of the DNS request, such as the domain requested, or the requesting IP address.
Our statistics are collected from the utility unbound-control on each DNS server with extended statistics turned on.
AhaDNS will never go through, sell or share your DNS query data with any third parties. We have no desire to impose on anyone’s privacy.
Our website address is: https://ahadns.com and behind this website, and the related services, is a single computer enthusiast who like to tinker with servers, code and similar things at his free time. There’s thus no corporation behind this website and the only source of income is based on donations.
We’ve taken many measures to secure access to our DNS servers. There’s currently only one person who can login on our DNS servers, which is the founder of AhaDNS.com.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

When sending a request using DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) or DNS-over-TLS (DoT) we do log that a request have been made. This log entry contains a masked IP address, meaning that a request from IP 192.192.192.192 is logged as 192.192.0.0. This log entry does not contain the full IP address of who made the request or any data of the request content. This log is saved for a maximum of 24h for debugging purposes.
Sending a “old fashioned” DNS request over UDP/TCP port 53 will not result in any log entry what so ever.
We do collect some anonymized statistics from each server (see section DNS query data on what we collect). These statistics are then presented in simple graphs that can be seen on our statistics website at https://statistics.ahadns.com. This is the only form of analytics we do on our data.
When you use any of our contact forms, we might store the data you typed in the form in order to handle the request and get back to you.
AhaDNS will never go through, sell or share your dns query data with any third parties. We have no desire to impose on anyone’s privacy.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
The anonymized DNS query data we collect (see section DNS query data) may be stored indefinitely. We store this data to be able to automatically post daily, monthly and yearly statistics on our social media accounts like Twitter and Telegram.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
You can contact us by using the contact form at https://ahadns.com/contact-us/.
